Learning at Home

Curriculum

Education in the Shaeffer home is not confined to a desk. It spills into the garden, the kitchen, the barn, and the pages of great books — shaped by a classical, Christ-centered approach.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6

Our Approach

We believe education is the cultivation of a whole person — mind, character, and soul. Every subject is taught through the lens of a Biblical worldview.

Classical Foundations

Grammar, logic, and rhetoric — the trivium provides the backbone of how our children learn to think, reason, and communicate.

Biblical Worldview

Scripture anchors every subject. History, science, literature — all of it is read through the story God is telling in creation and redemption.

Living Education

Real skills, real work, real places. Our children learn alongside us in the garden, the kitchen, and the community.

American Heritage

We study the founding, the Constitution, and the Christian roots of American liberty — raising citizens who understand and love their country.

Gap Year Program

Patriot Gap Year

A 52-week curriculum across five tracks — Constitutional studies, Reformed theology, American history, literature, and Scripture — built for young men and women ready to understand what they're inheriting before stepping into adult life.
